Aurora was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2018. Over the next 4 years she went through all the trials and life adjustments that are required by this diagnosis. It was difficult at the beginning but as habits were developed and new processes were learned, the lifestyle became a literal "second nature". However, the one thing that we always missed were good and trustworthy restaurants to eat at and sweets to enjoy. In 2018 we took a trip to Utah, and as had become our customary experience, the best part of going out of state was finding a better selection of such restaurants and shops. On the way home from this fateful trip, we decided that maybe we could make a difference in Idaho by starting our own gluten free bakery. After some brainstorming, "Gluten Free Goodies" was decided on as our name. 

In May of 2022 we debuted our pop-up stand at the Meridian Farmer's Market. A couple months later we moved over to the Nampa Farmer's Market and remained there for our first two years. In 2023 we decided to invest in a second booth setup and were then accepted into the Capital City Public Market at the Grove in Boise. The was our first major progression as small business.  As we continued to grow, we quickly realized that baking out of our home kitchen was simply not going work long-term. Over the course of 6 months in 2023 we stripped down our third bay garage and remodeled it into a full commercial kitchen with all amenities necessary to run our business. In the Spring of 2024, our next major progression occurred, when we were accepted into the Boise Farmer's Market. This quickly became our most profitable market and transformed our process into a higher scale operation.  

In May of 2024 we once again took a leap forward and secured our first major wholesale relationship, with the Boise Co-Op stores. Today, the Co-Op accounts for over 40 percent of our total sales. We began in 2022 at Meridian with just three flavors of cookies. Today, we maintain a menu of over 15 items with several others in seasonal rotation.  We're partnering with coffee shops like Common Ground Coffee in Boise and in 2026 we are making our next big jump forward by leaping into the world of fresh-baked bread. 

Over the course of this journey, we hired our first two part time employees. Amanda works with Aurora in the kitchen baking and also assists at the Boise Farmers Market.  Alvin's father Daryl has taken over the bulk of the packaging responsibilities.  Alvin's mother Toni also regularly helps run booths for us with Daryl at shows and markets.  As we expand further in 2026, we will likely be expanding our employee base as well. 

This journey has been long and difficult at times, but we recognize that everything we've achieved is a gift from God and we are thankful to our Savior Jesus Christ for providing us this opportunity each and every day. We are also incredibly thankful for each and every one of our customers, new and regulars, as you help us move forward, one goody at a time.
